Over the past few months we've been busy working behind the scenes developing a new website and box office system, which will launch on Wednesday 29th January.

Norwich Theatre Royal, Norwich Playhouse and Stage Two are coming together under the umbrella name of Norwich Theatre and one website The three venues have been formally part of the same organisation for many years but this will be the first time they have shared the same website.

The new website and ticketing system will launch on Wednesday 29th January but in order to make the final changes and ensure the switch over goes smoothly, we will be taking all events off sale from 8pm on Saturday 25th January until Wednesday 29th January. The new website and box office system will be back to normal from 2pm on Wednesday 29th January.

Our Box Office phone lines will still be open during this period where we can answer any queries but we will be unable to take any general bookings until the new ticketing system is fully set up, so please make sure you book your tickets before Saturday 25th January. After this date if you are booking for Made in Dagenham at the Theatre Royal or for A Lesson from Auschwitz and Rambert 2 at the Playhouse, please contact our Box Office on 01603 630 000 as we will be able to accept reservations on these shows only (see Box Office opening times below).

Box Office opening times during the switchover (please note we will not be able to take general bookings during this time but we will be able to assist or answer any queries):

- Sun 26 Jan, from 2pm – 6pm (phone only)

- Mon 27 Jan, from 9.30am – 6pm (phone and in person only)

- Tue 28 Jan, from 9.30am – 8pm (phone and in person only)

- Wed 29 Jan, business will resume as usual after 2pm (online, phone and in person)

Please note during this period the building will be open as usual.


  1. With the new ticketing system, the first time you login to your customer account, you'll need to request a password renew email from our website.
  2. After you’ve successfully updated your password, you'll be able to login to your customer account to see your orders, you can amend or update your details and contact preferences at any time. 
  3. If you wish to store your payment information our cardholder wallet can securely save your card details making your next booking even quicker. 


The new website – – will offer a better online experience and enable you to easily find out what is happening across our three stages, Theatre Royal, Playhouse and Stage Two. Key features of the new website will include a modern, refreshed appearance optimized for desktop, mobile and tablets; a cleaner design and easier navigation system that will direct you to the information you need much faster, and a smoother online purchasing system for all productions, courses and events.

Powered by the latest technology, the new Box Office system will make the online experience and booking process quick and easy when booking in person, by telephone or online. It will offer a wealth of new features including the option to buy multiple shows in one transaction, pre-order interval drinks or book meal deals together with your ticket. It will also be able to recommend other shows that may be of interest, making sure you will never miss out on a great performance. The ‘View from a Seat’ feature will give you an idea of what to expect from their seat in the auditorium. There will also be great new features for access tickets.
