Christopher Bruce’s masterpiece, Ghost Dances , is one of the most popular works in Rambert’s history.
It tells stories of love and compassion, as death – in the form of the iconic “ghost dancers” – interrupts the lives of a series of ordinary people. Visually referencing celebrations of the Day of the Dead, and driven by the rhythms of traditional Latin American music, it is a moving, intensely human work.
Also on the programme from Britain’s national dance company is The days run away like wild horses , a new creation by Aletta Collins. Taking its title from a poem by Charles Bukowski, it is a witty, lively depiction of how everyday moments make up a life, set to Arturo Márquez’s pulsating Danzones.

Completing the triple bill is Symbiosis  - a high velocity celebration of the Rambert dancers’ skills, by internationally acclaimed dance-maker Andonis Foniadakis, with a new score by BAFTA and Ivor Novello Award-nominated composer Ilan Eshkeri.

Full of drama and passion, and with live music throughout from the Rambert Orchestra, it’s a memorable programme of world-class dance.

Friday’s matinee features an introduction by Mark Baldwin (Rambert’s Artistic Director) and performances of Ghost Dances and The days run away like wild horses.
