Mondays, 30th September – 18th November 2019, 7pm - 9pm
Course | Stage Two
A perfect course to support you in applying to drama schools and drama courses at universities or stage schools. The course aims to take the fear out of the audition process, as well as taking time to look at speeches. Students work both collectively and individually. Time is also given to hone skills in taking direction and working with others. Professional practitioners who are working within the industry facilitate the course and offer their experience and advice.
A mock audition will take place towards the end of the course to help you prepare for your big day. This course requires participants to prepare a contemporary speech written after 1980 for the first session and it is expected that throughout the course you will work between sessions on any direction given.
Places are limited to 12 and given on a first come first served basis, we therefore advise applying early to avoid disappointment.

The Empirical Company (16-25 years)
Empirical’ adjective: derived from or guided by experience or experiment.
Our Empirical Company offers a feeling of a supportive community where members are enabled to discover different energies, forms and techniques, plus new methods of making and creating performances. It is about taking a leap into the unknown.
Whilst members must have prior experience of performing, we aim to provide them with a training program that will support them technically, conceptually and personally to discover and shape their own unique artistic visions.
Training covers a wide range of approaches from acting, dance and movement to self-scripting, technical skills and performance. Our goal is to facilitate the development of young artists who have the skill, vision and courage to create vital new and exciting theatre.
Activities are dependent on minimum numbers participating, in the event that we need to cancel due to low participant numbers, a full refund will be given. We are unable to offer refunds in other circumstances.
We work hard to ensure best practise and the safety of all who attend our activities. To do this we have a number of policies and procedures in place to support our participants and visitors.
Please take a moment to read our Terms and Conditions, Participants Guidance and associated policies on the Take Part / Information section of our website. Alternatively paper copies are available at our reception in Stage Two.
