Help us to increase your donation by 25%
Norwich Theatre Royal is a registered charity (262259), we can claim 25p in every £1 gift aid on all eligible donations
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a government scheme, for UK tax payers, to encourage charitable giving.
For every pound you give, Norwich Theatre Royal will receive an extra 25p from the HMRC, helping your donation go further. If you are a higher rate tax payer you may also be eligible to reclaim additional tax.
If you give £10.00 to Norwich Theatre Royal, we can claim £2.50 in Gift Aid making your donation worth £12.50. In 2014/15 we claimed almost £6,000 in Gift Aid at no additional cost to our donors – Thank you!
Imagine what a difference that could make and it won’t cost you an extra penny. You only need to complete the form once, and it will cover all future donations until you notify us otherwise.
Do I have to complete a Gift Aid declaration every time I donate?
No, you only have to complete the form once for Norwich Theatre Royal and all your donations will be Gift Aided until you notify us otherwise.
Can you claim Gift Aid for donations already given?
Yes, we can backdate claims for a period of four years.
Can I Gift Aid my Friends of the Theatre membership fee?
No, because the Friends of the Theatre membership benefits exceed the levels allowed by the HMRC, however if you are a Theatre Royal Ambassador we can gift aid your monthly donations.
I’m not sure if I pay enough tax?
If you donate £10.00 to Norwich Theatre Royal you must have paid £2.50 in income or capital gains tax in that tax year (April 6th to April 5th)
What is a Gift Aid Declaration?By making a Gift Aid declaration, it will enable Norwich Theatre Royal to reclaim tax on all donations made on or after the date you sign the Gift Aid Form. By saying 'Yes' to Gift Aid you are confirming that you have or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all charities that you donate to will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year. You are also confirming that you understand other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify and that Norwich Theatre Royal will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that you have given.
If you do make any if the below changes please notify us:
- Change your name or address
- No longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains
- Want to cancel your declaration (you may cancel this declaration within 30 days of it being confirmed and no Gift Aid will be claimed)
