Opera

Glyndebourne Tour

Take your seat for Tour 2017 where age old plotting and scheming prevails, from Mozart and Rossini right up to the present day in Brett Dean's new Hamlet.

Tuesday 14th (7.15pm) & Thursday 16th (2pm)

Mozart’s COSI FAN TUTTE

Running Time - 3hrs 15mins

Sung in Italian with English supertitles*

Full of sublime melodies and dazzling singing, Così fan tutte has variously been described as ‘a deep and unsettling masterpiece’, ‘a musical lark’, and ‘a profound and terrifying tragicomedy’. All of these qualities and more shine through in Glyndebourne’s gorgeous period production by Nicholas Hytner, former director of the National Theatre.

Rossini’s IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA

Running Time - 3hrs

Rossini’s most popular comedy comes roaring back in a production whose wit and playful energy springs directly from his buoyant music. Director Annabel Arden creates a sultry, surreal and subtly Spanish world lightly touched by magic.
