Marketing & Communications Director

Norwich Theatre Royal, which includes the 1300-seat Theatre Royal, 300-seat Norwich Playhouse and Stage Two, a dedicated Learning & Participation space with a 120-seat Studio, is seeking an experienced, creative and dynamic arts professional to join its Executive leadership team as Marketing & Communications Director.

This is a unique and exciting role in the UK theatre sector that leads the team driving sales across all three venues and through all marketing and communications channels. You will devise and lead a range of new strategic initiatives to develop our audiences in line with our ambitious new artistic and Learning & Participation strategies. In addition, you will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s wider objectives, particularly in terms of fundraising and commercial activity, and be responsible for the ongoing development of our brand, data usage and digital innovation.

The successful candidate will join the organisation at a hugely exciting time in its development and we are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable advocate for theatre and the performing arts with demonstrable experience of developing and delivering successful marketing, communications and audience development strategies that drive sales and engagement.

Theatre Royal Norwich (Trust) Ltd is a registered charity (no. 262259) and a not-for profit organisation, governed by a Board of 12 Trustees. The trust has recently merged with Norwich Playhouse Trust and is currently recruiting for 3 new Trustees to join the Board during 2018. Following a recent skills audit, we are seeking to appoint Trustees with specific experience and skills in one of more of the following areas:-

  • professional and large-scale theatre, arts or cultural arena
  • youth inclusion / engagement
  • human resources
  • financial management
