Tours at the Theatre

Norwich Theatre Royal now offers four separate backstage tours to visiting groups:

  • A Technical Tour – looking at the theatre from a technical perspective
  • A General Tour – looking at a mixture of historical, technical and social perspectives
  • A Historical Tour – looking at the History of Norwich Theatre Royal (this includes a powerpoint presentation)
  • Touch Tours are also available for those registered blind or partially sighted. These tours are linked with our audio described performances but may be available on request at other times. For more details please contact Matthew Piper (01603) 598540.

How much does a tour cost?

£5.00 per adult and  £4.00 per child. NB.  Teachers will not be charged when booking as part of a school group.

How long does a tour last?

The Technical and General tours normally last about an hour although this is mainly dependent upon the interest of the visiting group and can be shorter if required. The Historical Tour is longer than the other tours as it includes a powerpoint presentation. Approximate length is an hour and a half.

How many people can attend a tour?

The minimum we accept on all tours is 10 people. In order to comply with Health and Safety regulations all tours are for a maximum of 25 people.

Tours for schools and colleges are made through our Learning and Education Department. Please contact  01603 598600  or email stagetworeception@theatreroyalnorwich.co.uk

Tours for other groups including communities and businesses can be arranged with Jason Raper 01603 598542 or email j.raper@theatreroyalnorwich.co.uk
