One of the world’s most renowned period instrument orchestras and choirs presents three masterworks in praise of St Cecilia. Henry Purcell’s delicious Ode to St Cecilia of 1683 and Benjamin Britten’s brilliantly-crafted miniature Hymn to St Cecilia of 1942, a preface to one of Handel’s greatest works, his 1739 Ode for St Cecilia's Day, filled with magnificent choruses and solos.
