Head of Visitor Services

A fantastic opportunity for someone to lead our Commercial teams, supporting them to deliver an excellent and inspiring visitor experience and generating significant commercial income, the profits from which support the charitable activities at the core of the organisation.

The Commercial portfolio includes our modern restaurant “Prelude”, two busy Bars at Norwich Theatre Royal, the vibrant and unique Playhouse Bar and all of our Front of House points of sale, which together have a turnover of over £2million.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager who is Confident, Ambitious and a Strong Collaborative Leader.

Main Purpose of the Role

  • In collaboration with the Commercial Director be responsible for the delivery of the Commercial Strategy and achievement of its financial targets
  • Provide leadership for the Commercial department managers and support them to successfully deliver against the commercial strategy across all three of our buildings
  • Ensure the quality of the whole commercial offers meets our high expectations and reflects the quality of the theatre’s artistic programme
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of excellent customer service and visitor experience across all three of our buildings to both internal and external stakeholders.

Creative Assistant Opportunities

(Voluntary Roles)

We are looking for two Enthusiastic individuals who have a passion for performing arts and excellent communication skills, to come and join our team of Voluntary Creative Assistants.

These opportunities are working with our Sunday Musical Theatre Programme working with children and young people aged between 7 and 17.

We are seeking individuals who will;

  • Commit their time to the full programme schedule
  • Work collaboratively and support our practitioners in the delivery of the workshops
  • Actively engage with our participants, identifying and encouraging them to develop their individual strengths
  • Maintain a creative and productive work environment

In return for your time commitment and support you will benefit from gaining experience and training in;

  • Teaching skills and techniques
  • Workshop facilitation
  • Theatre Skills
  • Behavioural Management Training

We are looking to find 2 individuals for each of our programmes and you must be able to commit to at least ½ day per week.

Programme & Productions Manager

This brand new role is an opportunity for someone who is creative and passionate about all forms of performance, and who has experience in a Programming role within a Theatre. Supporting the ongoing development and delivery of the organisation’s multi-artform Artistic Strategy, this role works to provide joined-up support for the Programming Director, Playhouse Director and Learning and Participation Director in programming our three stages at Norwich Theatre Royal, Norwich Playhouse and Stage Two.

As well as providing overall support, the role will have responsibility for genre and venue specific programming strands, including our growing programme of non-stage based and site specific performances, as well as individual producing and co-producing projects.
